Today we bring you a brioche tutorial. Fear not, brioche is much easier than it appears to be! In the first few rows things might look a bit weird and you might think you are doing something wrong, but don't worry. After about half an inch, things start falling into place and you will be able to see your lovely and squishy brioche stitches!
Brioche is a rib stitch, meaning it is almost always worked in pairs. First we are going to learn the combo sl1yo (slip-1-with-yarn-over) and the brk (brioche knit, aka 'bark').

En las primeras corridas puede parecer un poco raro y puedes pensar que la embarraste, pero no te preocupes. Brioche es un punto tipo elástico, lo que significa que casi siempre será trabajado en pares. Primero vamos aprender el combo dl1-lz (desliza-1-punto-con-lazada) y el brioche derecho (brD).
Bring your working yarn to the front of your work.
Lleve la hebra hacia adelante de la labor.
With your right-hand needle, go into the stitch purlwise.
Con la aguja de la mano derecha, entra en el punto como si fuera tejerlo en revés.
Bring your working yarn up and over the needle, as if to make a yarn-over.
Lleve la hebra hacia arriba y por encima de la labor.
Slip both the stitch and the yarn-over from your left-hand needle to your right-hand needle.That's it! You have worked a sl1yo.

And now we are going to work our brioche knit, aka bark stitch. Go into the next stitch as if to knit, making sure to grab both the stitch and its yarn-over.
Y ahora vamos a trabajar nuestro brioche derecho. Entramos en el próximo punto como si fueramos tejerlo en derecho, teniendo atención para tomar ambas hebras del punto y su respectiva lazada.
Wrap the yarn counter-clockwise to work a knit stitch.
Envuelve la hebra en la aguja contrareloj para trabajar un punto derecho.
Bring the loop through the stitch as you normally would.
Traiga el bucle por dentro del punto como lo harias normalmente.
Take both the stitch and its yarn-over off the needle. That's it! You just worked a 'bark' (brioche knit) stitch.
Suelta ambos el punto y su lazada de la aguja. ¡Listo! Acabas de tejer un punto brioche derecho.
