Truss Shawl

Hi! I hope you have been enjoying all our thursday's throwback patterns. Today I bring you the Truss Shawl. This pattern was the 'mother' of last month's release, the Truss Hat. And, to be completely honest, this design holds a dear spot in my heart. Sometimes when desiging things require quite a struggle to come together, and some other times, the stars align and everything flows smoothly. This shawl was one of those times.

This asymmetrical triangle shawl is knitted from the right corner to the opposite side. The lace chevron together with the super squishy garter sections makes this shawl a very interesting piece to go with any outfit.

This project is highly adaptable for other yarn weights and the pattern includes general directions if you prefer to use another yarn weight then DK. Please bear in mind that using different yarn weights will affect the final size of your piece and also your yardage requirements.

SIZE Approximately 220 cm (86 in) wingspan and 50 cm (20 in) depth

YARDAGE 750 m/820 yd of DK weight yarn

Sample shown in Lanabel artesanal 12/4 colorway 53

NEEDLES 5 mm/US 8 circular needle with cable long enough to accommodate all stitches comfortably, or size needed to obtain gauge

NOTIONS & TOOLS blocking tools of your preference, tapestry needle, scissors, stitch markers (optional)

GAUGE 14 st x 28 rows in 10 cm/4” in stockinette stitch.

Though gauge is not crucial for this project, changes in it will affect your yardage requirements and your final measurements.

I hope you like it!
