Colmena Shawl

Hello there! Today we are back in track with our pattern's updates. The one I have for you today is the Colmena Shawl. This is my latest published pattern to date and I love it! It's another colaboration with Miss Babs Yarns and cals for their delicious Big Silk base, and the sample features the Roasted Pumpkin colorway.

The Colmena Shawl is a fun and fast growing pattern with a surprisingly easy to memorize cable stitch, worked flat and sideways from one tip to the other. Squishy, cozy and big, this shawl is perfect to wrap yourself in when the temperatures start to drop.

SIZE 185 x 80 cm/74 x 32 in (wingspan x depth)

YARDAGE 870 m/950 yd of worsted weight yarn.

Sample features Miss Babs Yarns Big Silk 60% Merino wool, 40% cultivated silk 494 m/250 g (540 yd/8.8 oz) in colorway Roasted Pumpkin.

NEEDLES 5 mm/US 8 needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.

Circular needles with 80 cm/32 in cable length or longer are recommended to accommodate all stitches comfortably.

NOTIONS blocking tools of your preference, cable needle, scissors, stitch markers, tapestry needle

GAUGE 14 stitches x 32 rows in 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4 in measured after blocking in garter stitch.

Even though gauge is not crucial to this project, changes in it will affect your yardage requirements and your final dimensions.

This pattern has been tech-edited and test-knitted.

I hope you like it!
