Hello there! We are back here with another pattern throwback. Today we are going to talk about the Itaúnas Shawl.
Itaúnas is a small beach district in the region of Espírito Santo, Brazil, famous for its sand dunes. From the Tupi language, Itaúnas means black stone, because of the river that surrounded the main village. A beautiful and touristic place, the whole region is part of the Itaúnas State Park, and was declared a World Heritage Site in the early 90’s.
The Itaúnas Shawl is a squishy garter and cable DK weight shawl pattern, worked from the right corner to the opposite side. The cable pattern is easy to memorize and will fly off your needles in no time.
